- You are under 50 years of age
- You have been employed in a skilled occupation for 12 months in the period of 24 months immediately before your Australian Visa application is made.

You only need to live in Australia for 2 out of 5 years to qualify to get the visa reissued for another 5 years. Or if you spend 4 years in Oz you can be eligible for citizenship
